The u3a is a nationwide charitable organisation and there are more than 1000 local branches spread across the UK.
Through the u3a, members make friends and find community.
The curious history of Littlehampton u3a
Littlehampton u3a has been in existence since 2013, however it started life in a slightly unusual way.
In 1997 Arun u3a was created as part of the nationwide network of over 1000 u3a branches. At that time it covered the area from Bognor Regis in the west to Ferring in the east. Membership of Arun u3a grew steadily until eventually the branch became too large to be efficiently managed by the voluntary committee members.
In 2013 it was therefore decided to split Arun u3a into three new branches: Arun East, Littlehampton and Arun West.
Littlehampton u3a therefore came about due to the popularity of the u3a in our area!
It's also worth noting that at the time of the split it was agreed that Littlehampton u3a and Arun West u3a would form an alliance which allows members from each branch to attend the interest groups and events of each others' branch at no extra cost. So the members of both u3as effectively get two memberships for the price of one!

Littlehampton u3a AGM
All members are invited to the Annual General Meeting. At this meeting, the Committee will report on the year's activities, and the accounts will be presented. Committee members and officers will be elected if needed.
